Mama Hack: Picky Eater Tacos

Finally taking a break from mama-dom and my crazy-hard work over at EtsyInterviews to let you in on an exciting little mama secret I discovered yesterday! I'm so excited I just can't keep it to myself...

My picky little guy, like many 3 year olds, seems to live on PB&J, meatballs, and chicken nuggets. I have to brag a little, though; he does LOVE broccoli. But that about sums up his menu. I try my best to at least ensure that those are as healthy as can be by using whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, no sugar added jelly, turkey meatballs, and such. But I still worry that he isn't getting enough variety. But I've noticed lately that he has taken a liking to soft TACOS! First he just started eating half of mine. Now he gets his own. (Mama Hack: I put a kitchen clip on the end to hold it all together for him!) And he gobbles them up one after another.

SO yesterday I did a little experiment. Instead of putting taco meat and toppings inside, I put what we were having for dinner instead: cheese steak! He LOVED it!! He'd have never taken a bite of steak straight from his plate. Can't wait to see what veggies I can start hiding inside now.

For more great ideas on how to trick, I mean help out your picky eaters, check out the great guest post by Jenny Flake on The Mother Huddle. And don't forget to check out Jenny's blog, the Picky Palate, too. Her recipes and photography are delectable!
