A Free Printable Sticker Chart for Picky Eaters

My kids have turned into the pickiest eaters ever!  I get so frustrated when I know that a new recipe is something that they will like, but they won't even try one bite.  So I decided that they needed a little incentive to try new foods at dinner time.  I created a Dinner Adventure Sticker Chart.  Every time they try a new healthy food, they earn a sticker to add to the plate on the chart.  Their goal is written in the cup on the chart.  And they came up with the reward: a trip to the bookstore!

So far it's working great for Sawyer!  He's already earned a trip to the bookstore.  And he's discovered lots of new foods that he likes, too.  Which I think has made him more trusting of me and my cooking!  Priscilla is still a work in progress...  If you'd like to try it with your children, you can download the chart here.  Let me know how it works for you!

Happy to be linking to Show & Tell!

  2. Thank you so much! Hey, I figure if I'm doing the same concept with his potty training, why not with food!

  4. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've used it the past two weeks and it's been a big hit (more so with my 6 year old than my 3 year old, but he's coming along). One day, the kids were so enthusiastic about earning a sticker for trying a new food that they demanded something new at breakfast. They had me scouring my pantry at 7 a.m. looking for something out of the ordinary. I found a jar of pepper jelly. My daughter didn't care for it, but my really picky son did. It's been a great adventure for the family and is challenging me in a good way to think outside the box to keep coming up with new tastes for them to try.

  5. I have been stumped about how to encourage my 2.5-year-old to try new things and also how to encourage him to eat things he used to like! Thanks for this great idea. I'm trying this right away!
