Kids in the Kitchen: Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats

Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats 5

These sweet bunny pretzel treats are really yummy and so easy for little ones to help with.  Here’s what you’ll need…

Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats 1
  • Mini pretzels
  • Stick pretzels
  • Hershey’s Caramel Kisses
  • Pastel M&Ms
  • Food Coloring Pens (not pictured)

Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats 2
  1. Place mini pretzels a few inches apart on a foil lined baking pan.
  2. Unwrap the kisses and place them on the mini pretzels.
  3. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit until chocolate melts slightly.
  4. While they are in the oven, break the pretzel sticks in half.
  5. Create ears by placing two pretzel stick halves into each melted chocolate kiss.  (Be careful of hot pan!)
  6. Press 3 M&Ms into each chocolate kiss to create eyes and nose (with M&M markings facing down into the chocolate).
  7. Use a dark food coloring writer pen to make small dots in the center of each M&M eye.
  8. Place in the freezer until chocolate sets.
These make a perfect spring or Easter party treat.  And they can be done almost entirely by your little ones.

  1. So cute, too bad you don't get the pastell m&m's here and I have not seen any Hershey's kisses either. But one can always substitute ;-). Thanks for sharing - just stopping by from tip junkie :-)

  10. Very cute idea. I am going to let my 3 year old make them for her preschool class this week. Where can you buy the food color pens? Just came across your blog today!

    1. Tracy, we bought ours at the regular grocery store. They were in the aisle with the other food coloring and baking supplies. But I'm sure you could also get them at a craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Let me know how you make out!

  12. I still love these - but guess what I found today - some pale (not quite pastel) colour Sugar coated candies - I may actually be able to try some of these, but they are tiny.

  13. After 40 mins in the oven, I have yet to get the kiss to melt. Kids are now not interested in the project and have eaten most of the M&Ms.

Time for melting chocolate chips in a double boiler.

Cute idea but kisses aren't made to melt easily. That's why they go into the center of cookies.
