It’s no secret that my kids are picky eaters.  It’s always a struggle to get them to consistently eat fruit and vegetables.   So I’m always on the look out for creative ways to get the kids to eat vegetables especially.  Here are a few ways I’ve tried that have helped…

5 Ways to Get Kids to Eat Vegetables

1. Hide Veggies in a Taco
2. Use a Dinner Time Sticker Reward Chart
3. Use a Food Taste Testing Chart
4. Try these 25 Tips for Picky Eaters
5. Watch the Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD

Honestly, when I received the Copy-Kids DVD in the mail I was skeptical.  What is Copy-Kids?
Copy-Kids is a […] video that encourages positive habits in young children, by watching and copying other kids. Copy-Kids unique content — DVD, online and TV — helps parents get their children hooked on healthy and positive habits.
Produced for children aged 6 months to 5 years, Copy-Kids innovative video is fun and compelling for both children and parents.

Each chapter [, one for each of 12 fruits and vegetables,] features several adorable and entertaining children aged 9 months to 4 years, eating with joy and delight. It’s a simple but revolutionary tool for parents who want their kids to develop a life-long habit of healthy eating.

It seemed like too simple of a concept, especially for my five year old picky eater.  But when I put the movie on and placed the large plate of colorful, raw veggies in front of my two kids, I was amazed at what happened.

They ate veggies, watched the movie, laughed and played, and ate some more!  They tried vegetables they’d never even tried before.  And were surprised when they loved them!

Now they ask for their vegetable movie all the time.  I have to make sure to have lot of fresh fruit and vegetables on hand for when they want to watch it.  It’s amazing!

I was truly amazed and excited over how great the Copy-Kids DVD worked.  I think it’s well worth the reasonable price tag.  But you can win a FREE copy by entering below…

  5. I have nine grandchildren and want them to have healthy eating habits. I'm glad to see your suggestions.
They are young enough to get them use to eating fruits and vegetables and establish a lifelong habit. The copycat DVD seems like a great approach.

  10. It would be AMAZING if that DVD worked for my picky kid! He used to LOVE broccoli and other things that he will no longer eat because of how they look.

  11. My oldest loves food, vegetables or not. It's no big deal to get her to eat anything. My youngest hates everything that isn't artificially orange colored. It's hard to get her to eat.

  14. My son loves most fruits, but won't touch raw veggies. He likes them steamed, but it would be nice to just grab something out of the fridge and hand it to him instead of having to pre-cook it. I hope I win!

  16. My daughter is a pretty good eater. She loves fruit. There isn't much she doesn't like. I hope she keeps eating healthy. Me wanting her to eat healthy has made me eat way healthier than before because I want to set a good example
